OCTOBER 2019 - The Beginning
It started with a desire to create something I wanted to use
Golf has always been part of my life for a long time. But over time, the tools around the game started to feel disposable. Plastic, mass-produced, and disconnected from the tradition that drew me in. I wanted something simpler. Something more grounded and closer to the roots of the game.
So I went into the workshop and made my own alignment sticks.
The FIRST HICKORY STICKS
I chose solid hickory, which is the same wood used in early golf clubs. Not for nostalgia, but for how it feels.
Balanced, Natural and Alive in your hands.
They weren’t meant to be a product. They were just better to practice with.
But once they started showing up at the range and on the course, people noticed.
Friends asked for pairs.
Then their playing partners did too.
That’s when Hazy quietly began.
Why wood still matters
Most training aids are designed to be inexpensive and replaceable.
Hazy was built on the opposite idea:
Practice tools should feel as considered as the game itself.
Wood changes with time.
It develops character.
It carries marks from use.
It doesn’t feel temporary.
That permanence, subtle but real truly changes how you practice.
Built slowly, on purpose
What started in my shop has grown into a small American golf brand, used by players, coaches, and clubs across the world.
But the way we make things hasn’t changed. We still choose real materials. We still finish by hand. We still keep designs quiet and lasting. Because the goal was never to make more golf products. It was to make the everyday tools of golf feel better.
what's in a name
I have always been drawn to building and working with my hands, and over time that instinct naturally found its way into golf.
The name Hazy began as something personal, inspired by my daughter Hazel, and later grew into Hazy Golf after the birth of my second daughter, Georgia. The “HG” quietly carries both the brand and their initials.
From the beginning, I wanted Hazy to be shaped by family, craft, and the belief that the objects we use in the game should feel lasting and considered.
Since 2020, I have worked alongside close friends and family, growing Hazy slowly and intentionally while keeping real materials and careful making at its core.
Hazy alignment sticks are more than practice tools.
They are meant to be kept.
Each custom mark, crest, or color carries a connection to a place, a club, or a moment in the game.
As Hazy grows, that foundation remains unchanged. Quiet design, honest materials, and golf objects made to last.
