Grove XXIII: Custom Carolina & White Hickory Alignment Sticks
Grove XXIII is a good example of how a custom alignment-stick design can become part of an ongoing club merchandise program rather than a one-time project.
Hazy Golf created a Carolina blue and white crackle-stripe hickory alignment-stick design for the club. In 2026, Grove XXIII Retail Manager Benjamin Suttman returned asking to run the design again for 50 units, while also beginning development of a second design that would fit the Grove XXIII brand.

The established design pairs Carolina blue and white with a crackle-stripe treatment, GROVE XXIII engraving and the club's cat mark at the top.

A Design Worth Reordering
When Grove XXIII returned for another project, the request was straightforward: bring back the Carolina and white crackle-stripe design for another 50 units.
For a custom club program, that repeat request matters. A strong design does not need to be reinvented every season. It can become a recognizable piece of club merchandise and be reordered while additional concepts are developed around it.

The project photography also shows how the same Grove XXIII branding can live across a very different palette. A red-and-black crackle treatment keeps the natural hickory exposed at both ends while using the same engraved wordmark and cat mark.

Developing the Next Grove XXIII Design
Alongside the repeat Carolina-and-white design, Grove XXIII also asked to see new Hazy Golf work that could be adapted to fit the club's brand.
That creates a different design challenge: preserve what already works while introducing a second option that feels connected to the club rather than simply creating another colorway for the sake of variety.
